Oil Fence

An oil fence is a physical barrier used to prevent the spread of oil, which is installed when there is a risk of oil spill due to activities such as oil transfer and ship refueling. It also effectively blocks floating garbage and contaminants entering rivers and harbors.

Oil Absorbent

The term "oil absorbent" refers to oil-absorbent materials that are used to absorb and remove oil spills. It is usually made of polyurethane and urethane with a width of about 50×50 cm and a thickness of about 1 cm, which is dropped on the water to absorb oil on the surface. However, the effectiveness decreases when the oil layer is too thick, and the oil-absorbing mat is easy to spread in the sea. Furthermore, it is difficult to recover the oil if it sinks to the bottom of the sea, so it is used only when chemical treatment is not available.

Oil Snares

An oil snare is a containment tool made of polypropylene ribbon yarns. They are effective for capturing oil in rocky crevices. Alternatively, they can be used as a trap on the shoreline to recover oil carried by tidal currents. They can also be hung from the bow of spill response vessels, especially in bad weather at sea.
